Frans van der Schoot, founder and owner of the company, was figuratively born in the bakery. He was helping his (grand-)father in his craft bakery very often, serving the community with daily fresh bread.

After he graduated as mechanical engineer in 1984, he started to work as technical engineer at SaBa, a group of approx. 40 industrial bakeries in The Netherlands. Serving them in all kinds of technical projects, among which 15 new greenfield plants realized in a period of only 9 years.

After a management buy-out of SaBa in 1993 he started his own independent bakery engineering firm in The Netherlands under the brand name Project Techniek. With a growing team of technical bakery consultants we serviced the (semi-) industrial bakeries in The Netherlands and Belgium with bakery project development, engineering, procurement and installations of bakery systems. Since then, more than 100 bakery projects have been realized.

Facing the upcoming lean years in the Western-European bakery industry, we spread our wings and entered the emerging markets in 2004. Acting as a bakery consultancy firm, we served many investors and bakeries with executing bakery projects. Many of these projects were in the Middle East and North African (MENA) market, with the convenience of working from an office in Dubai, which was established in 2008.

Since several years there is more and more demand for total and turn-key bakery solutions. Our business model of System Integration responds to this demand. “With System Integration we take the entire process out of our customers hands, guaranteeing the highest chance of success”, thus Frans van der Schoot. We repositioned and rebranded ourselves and since 2016 Integrated Bakery is airborne.
