On May 9th I visited the interpack fair in Dusseldorf for the second time. The fair keeps getting bigger and bigger and comprises all 19 halls of the fairgrounds. I, and many others in our network, always thought that interpack was the most important fair for mainly the packaging industry. After my visit I have a different point of view; this fair is also very important for the processing industry. Considering the visitors record of 170.500, 74% of which comes from abroad, the fair organisation can rightly say that this is the most important fair for the packaging- and the processing industry in Europe.
Bakery industry section at interpack
The section for the bakery industry is also growing. What really struck me were the many big and remarkable stands. It is clear that this fair is very important to many companies in our sector of industry. The OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) turned out in full. Especially the stands of Haas Food Equipment, Theegarten, Tromp Group and Bühler made a big impression on me.
I spoke with many OEMs. For the OEM the focus of course is selling new equipment, however, if he can offer his customer a solution for the used equipment by introducing Dubet, this is a great extra service. We like to discuss this personally with the representatives of these companies by visiting their stand. This way we also stay up-to-date with the developments of the manufacturers.
I also met with customers from, amongst others, Egypt, Greece and Russia. It is always very nice to meet our business partners and customers in person.
As far as I am concerned, this was a very successful fair visit. The next interpack will take place in May 2020, I think that it is a must to visit for everyone working in our sector of industry! I am curious to hear about your interpack experience.
